Palak paneer is a vegetarian dish from the Indian subcontinent. This recipe is a easy to make customized version of Palak Paneer which includes use of freshly made crumbled Paneer and chopped spinach seasoned with garlic, garam masala, and other spices.
200g freshly made crumbled paneer
2 tablespoon cooking oil
1 tsp cumin seed, coriander powder, garam masala powder and turmeric powder each
1 bay leaves
1 whole red chilli
2 small elaichi and 1 big elaichi
2 medium sized onion
1 big tomato
2 garlic cloves
small piece of ginger
salt to taste
1.Heat the pan with oil and add jeera, bay leaves, whole green chilli, big and small elaichi. When they begin to sputter, add finely chopped garlic and ginger. Fry it until the raw smell of garlic goes away.
2. Add onion and fry them till they become transparent. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder and salt to the mixture.
3. Add finely chopped tomatoes and cook them till they becomes mushy. Add crumbled paneer to the mixture and cook for 2 minutes.
4. Add finely chopped spinach and mix it well. Cover the mixture with a lid and cook it for 15-20 minutes.
Serve it hot with Puri or rice !
