Easy Gulab Jamun Recipe

Gulab jamun is a milk-solid-based  sweet, particularly popular in the Indian subcontinent. Follow these simple steps to make mouth-watering gulab jamuns using Gits gulab jamun mix 🙂

Ingredients

1 Gits gulab jamun mix

600 gms  sugar (aprox. 3 cups)

3 cardamom, powdered

Few strands of kesar/ saffron (optional)

Frying oil

 

Recipe 

1.Mix the gits gulab jamun mix with 120 ml of water and knead properly to make a smooth and soft dough.

  

 

2. Apply ghee/oil on your palms and shape 40 round jamuns without cracks from the dough.

  

 

3. Deep fry the jamuns in oil/ ghee on low to medium heat until they are golden brown in colour.

 

 

4. For syrup, dissolve 600 gms sugar in 640 ml water and add a few strands of saffron and powdered cardamom to the syrup. Boil the mixture and then let it simmer for 5 minutes.  Finally, soak the jamuns in the syrup for 30 minutes.

Tips

For richer jamuns, use milk instead of water.

You can enjoy gulab jamuns with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream!
