Til Modak

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the primary festivals of Maharashtra and Modaks have a special importance in the worship of the Hindu god Ganesha. According to Hindu mythology Modak is believed to be Ganesha’s favorite food. Til modak recipe is a variation of usual modak recipe. It is made from sesame seeds and jaggery.

Ingredients:

1 cup Sesame seeds
1/2 cup Jaggery
3 tablespoon Ghee

 

Recipe:

1 Heat a pan and dry roast sesame seed on low flame till golden brown. Keep roasted sesame seed aside in a plate and let it cool down then grind it coarsely.

 

2. In the same pan take 1/2 cup jaggery and 2 tablespoon ghee, put on a low flame. Keep on stirring and cook for 10 mins or becomes thick.

 

3. Add coarsely grind sesame seed to jaggery syrup and mix it very well.

 

4. Apply some ghee on your palm , take approximately 2 tbls hot mixture and try to make round shape.
If the mixture is too hot then wait for sometime.

 

5. Make all ladoos and store it in airtight container .
